What Is Brow Shaping?

Having perfectly shaped eye eyebrows is the key to enhancing your features and framing your face. Brow Shaping is a professional method of shaping your eyebrows by removing unwanted hair by waxing and tweezing to get a perfect look that will last for up to four weeks.

How Does Brow Shaping Work?

Brow Shaping is a detailed procedure that combines waxing and trimming to achieve a unique brow shape that best frames your face. While each client is different, Brow Shaping will involve removing the hair from the underside, top or in-between of your eyebrows. At Midtown, Brow Shaping is a four-step process:

  1. Sanitize: We first clean the area around your eyes with an astringent to ensure the area is ready for Brow Shaping.
  2. Wax: Knowing the brow shape you’re after, we design and shape your brows using wax.
  3. Trim: After removing most of your unwanted hair, we trim your brows (to avoid a bushy look) with a spoolie, paying attention to any long hairs that have been missed.

Finishing Touches: We apply essential oils to condition your brows and provide a steamed towel treatment to nourish and calm your brows after shaping.

Brow Shaping FAQs

Q: How often do I need to shape my brows?

A: It depends on your hair growth, but most Midtown client come for Brow Shaping once every three weeks.

Q: What’s the difference between waxing and tweezing during Brow Shaping?

A: Waxing removes a large area of hair in one swipe while tweezing removes fuzz and sculpts the shape of your brows one hair at a time. Midtown’s Brow Shaping beings first with a wax and is followed by tweezers to clean up any hairs missed during the wax.

Q: When should I not come in for Brow Shaping?

A: Brow Shaping is not recommended if you are enjoying Retinol A, Glycolic Acid or Roacutane treatments. Please wait two weeks following any of these treatments to book a Brow Shaping appointment.
